Position Summary And Areas Of Responsibility
ACAMS Next Gen Product Director is responsible for ACAMS new product line, offering AI enabled AFC AI Assistant to answer questions, provide guidelines and resources to AFC professionals globally. The Product Director will lead market research through product pilots, optimize product performance and determine key features that enable increased adoption. The role holder will drive global adoption of solutions that help prevent financial crime and protect the integrity of the financial system worldwide. The role will also oversee the customer journey across the product line, ensuring that products are easy to use, competitive in the market, add value to AFC professionals and achieve commercial goals. With deep expertise in AFC, this role combines subject matter knowledge with a strategic, cross‑functional approach. The role will own the product line, along with the Enterprise proposal and manage the products operationally, gaining insights into product usage, customer feedback, and market trends to drive continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives. Additionally, this role plays a key part in conducting competitive and market research, supporting the Product Management team with insights on market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends. Initially an individual contributor role, the Director will collaborate closely with Information Services, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Thought Leadership, and Executive teams to deliver a high‑quality product experience and support ACAMS Head of AFC Products & Solutions. The Next Gen Product Director should have experience working with or within large, complex international enterprises such as financial institutions, consultancies, software vendors or other similar organizations. Prior experience in leading SaaS solutions and experience managing software solutions will be a distinct advantage. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen and support the Head of AFC Products and Solutions in developing ACAMS’ Enterprise value proposition for a range of holistic AFC solutions and packages oriented to distinct customer segments.
Job Duties
Product Management - Lead the build, deployment and refinement of the next gen SaaS product line. Oversee commercial performance of the product portfolio, ensuring products are aligned with company goals and provide clear value to customers.
Competitive and Market Research - Conduct ongoing competitive and market research, identifying trends, analyzing competitor offerings, and understanding market demands to inform next iteration of product line, including alpha, beta testing and piloting the product with key clients.
Customer Experience Ownership - Champion the customer experience across the product journey, analyzing user feedback, satisfaction, and engagement to drive improvements and maintain high standards.
Product Performance - Manage product performance by tracking performance metrics, usage data, and customer insights, using a data‑driven approach to inform strategic decisions and portfolio enhancements.
Cross‑Functional Leadership - Act as a cross‑functional leader, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Thought Leadership to ensure product messaging, positioning, and customer support are aligned with market and customer expectations.
Product Feedback Loop - Establish and maintain a feedback loop with customers and internal stakeholders to monitor product quality, usability, and effectiveness, leveraging insights to prioritize product updates and improvements.
Market and Product Expertise - Serve as an in‑house expert on anti‑financial crime and related fields, offering insights into industry trends, regulatory changes, and customer needs to guide product strategy.
Support to Head of AFC Product & Solutions - Partner with ACAMS Head of Product & Solutions to support strategic initiatives, contribute to product strategy discussions, and drive operational excellence across the Product department.
Skills, Qualifications And Experience
Degree : master’s degree in business, technology, law, finance, economics, politics, international relations, or other related fields
10+ years of experience in product management, ideally within financial services.
5+ years of experience in Software products, including release of Beta, MVP, and GA products.
Expertise in anti‑financial crime, compliance, or related areas, with the ability to understand the unique challenges faced by AFC professionals.
Strong analytical skills and experience in conducting market and competitive research to support product strategy.
Proven track record in product performance and improving customer experience through a data‑driven, insights‑focused approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working closely with IT teams, drafting user stories, requirements and implementing projects in phases
Experience in product operations, including metrics tracking, usage analysis, and customer feedback.
Strong commercial acumen and a comprehensive understanding of the product lifecycle from both a user and business perspective.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, re‑organizing environment with a collaborative, adaptable mindset.
Proactive thinker with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to clearly translate product goals and requirements for both technical and non‑technical teams.
Excellent organizational and multi‑tasking skills, and ability to prioritize
Experience of service / solution design in large complex international organizations for example financial services, consulting, software
Customer facing experience ideally at senior levels including C‑suite
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Must be a fluent English speaker
Ability to work flexible (off)hours when working on deadlines and occasionally in line with other ACAMS regions’ time zones
Ability to travel as required up to 30%
Must permanently reside in Eastern time zone region
