3-12 hour shifts, Nights, every other weekend requirement

Standard emergency room patient population awareness

Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips

Ventilator management experience prior to transfer to ICU

Description :

Charge experience is preferred.

Float across emergency and inpatient units as needed.

This position requires working three 12-hour shifts during the night.

Every other weekend rotation is expected.

The unit has a total of 2 trauma rooms and 11 examination rooms, with 4 designated as fast track.

Staffing provides a nurse aide 24 / 7, and an additional aide during peak hours.

Common diagnoses include standard emergency room patients and occasionally specific patient populations.

Cancellation policy allows for three shifts to be missed during a 13-week contract.

Charting system utilized is from a leading health technology company.

A charge nurse oversees the unit and will take one patient.

The emergency department has a 1 : 4 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Psychological holds typically occur, averaging one patient, usually for 24 hours or less.

Evening shifts support pharmacy operations during the weekdays.
