Job Title : Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)

SUMMARY :
As an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, you will be at the forefront of emergency medical care, delivering immediate and advanced medical assistance while ensuring swift transportation of patients to medical facilities. Your expertise is vital in stabilizing patients during critical situations.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Respond to emergency calls, assess patient conditions, and determine appropriate medical interventions.
- Safely transport patients to medical facilities, monitoring their conditions and providing necessary care.
- Administer CPR, control bleeding, manage airways, and perform other life-saving measures as per your Scope of Practice recognized by NYS.
- Utilize essential medical equipment, such as defibrillators and oxygen delivery systems.
- Work collaboratively with paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement, and hospital staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient care reports and documentation of assessments and treatments.
- Ensure emergency vehicles and medical equipment are clean and ready for use.
- Interpret various instructions, including calculating weight and volume ratios.
- Lift and move patients, often in challenging environments.
- Engage in continuous education to stay updated with medical protocols.
- Maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements :
Work in a variety of uncontrolled and potentially hazardous environments.Maintain physical readiness to assist in lifting / moving patients and equipment.Walk, kneel, crawl, and climb over uneven terrain during emergencies.Transport essential medical equipment without assistance.Remain calm and focused in emotionally charged situations.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.Valid NYS AEMT certification.Valid NYS Driver's License.Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
High School Diploma (or equivalent).Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or equivalent.Strong knowledge of medical procedures and emergency care techniques.PAY RANGE : $19.50 - $25.00
