Base pay range : $65,000.00 / yr - $101,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities

• Participates in the planning, organizing and execution of preseason and season practices and contests.
• Evaluates athletes' performance and progress to ensure peak performance during practices and contests.
• Oversees the mental and physical preparation of athletes for contests; assists in the development of conditioning programs.
• Scout and evaluate opponents' performance and recommend game strategy based on that evaluation.
• Oversees the recruitment of prospective student athletes; evaluate prospective students' athletic and academic abilities and present recruits to the Head Coach for final selection.
• Participates in planning for alumni events including fundraising or other special functions.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree and one year of experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of NCAA regulations.

Required Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of effective coaching techniques; ability to work in a diverse environment; ability to organize and manage all facets of the program including recruiting, scouting, budget planning, individual instruction, and monitoring academic progress; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; travel as required; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills and Abilities : Three or more years of collegiate coaching experience; professional certification in areas such as water safety, advanced life-saving, health services, first aid, or CPR may be required for some positions; proven counseling, teaching, recruiting, managerial, administrative, and fundraising skills; ability to promote the athletic program and the university locally, nationally, and internationally.
