Overview

Susquehanna is seeking a Project Manager Lead to enhance its Project Management Team which is part of the Real Estate and Facilities Group. The Project Manager Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of Susquehannas design and construction projects working in coordination with Susquehannas in-house and contract design teams engineers construction companies and trades. Additionally the PM is the primary source of communication and coordination of input and approvals from all internal stakeholders and will be responsible for the ultimate success of the projects. The role is based at Susquehannas world headquarters in Bala Cynwyd (Philadelphia).

In this role you will :

  • Lead a team of in-house project managers including mentoring project assignment crisis management recruitment of new personnel leadership in consultant and contractor selection etc.
  • Assure the teams use of consistent processes and documentation for scheduling budgeting RFPs and contracts change order management project approval and stakeholder communication
  • Assure adherence to project cost and design standards and maintenance of cumulative project cost tracing and periodic review of industry cost averages
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for design and construction projects ranging from minor renovations to major office fit-outs at Susquehannas domestic and international locations taking proactive measures to drive successful delivery
  • Understand requirements for successful project delivery and take ownership of ensuring they are met or exceeded
  • Coordinate input and approvals from Susquehannas design team and senior business stakeholders
  • Identify and proactively communicate problems solutions and opportunities on assigned projects
  • Create and manage the project schedule budget and other tracking documents
  • Communicate risks and opportunities validate feasibility and manage cost and schedule impacts throughout the project lifecycle
  • Prepare and manage RFPs bidding and awarding for project consultants contractors or direct trades as appropriate
  • Coordinate review from Susquehanna Legal of project contracts and agreements
  • Schedule create agendas for and lead project meetings
  • Prepare or coordinate the preparation and distribution of meeting minutes
  • Coordinate all technological requirements and project impacts with Susquehannas Technology team
  • Regularly and proactively communicate and as necessary get approval for all changes to project schedule scope or budget with all appropriate stakeholders
  • Review plans for constructability and compliance to Susquehanna standards
  • Ensure adherence to building rules and safety standards
  • Attend and serve as a communication resource in coordination and progress meetings; make regular trips to sites during construction including bid walks pre-construction walks in-progress site visits punch walks and construction closeout
  • Regularly communicate with all project stakeholders and adapt communication messaging and detail to the needs of each stakeholder
  • Understand expectations for quality and deliver against them consistently seeking ways to improve the deliverable process and adapt approach as needed

What were looking for

  • 10 years of experience in design or construction projects with a particular focus on corporate interior fit-outs
  • At least 3 years of project management experience on the owners side
  • Prior experience managing a team of full time employees
  • Proven project management capabilities
  • Experience in managing all aspects of a project lifecycle from concept to closeout
  • Experience in managing project budgets and schedules
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project Excel Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment
  • Strong decision-making interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel to Susquehannas other offices if necessary
  • Experience with AutoDesk Bluebeam or other project and construction software tools is a plus
  • Degree or technical certifications in architecture construction project management or a related discipline preferred
  • Cost estimating experience or background is a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong sense of personal ownership and accountability
