Endoscopy Technician

Assists in the implementation of nursing care and services for the patients undergoing endoscopic procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse. Plans and implements basic endoscopy case management of instruments, supplies and equipment by following age-specific and procedure-specific care guidelines. Assumes responsibility for "on call" coverage. Performs duties in a professional manner consistent with hospital policies and procedures, accepted standards, and current state and federal regulations. Utilizes initiative and strives to maintain a steady level of productivity. Communication on behalf of the patient reflects the mission, ethics, and goals of the hospital.

Graduate of an accredited surgical technician program, nurse aid program, or medical assistant program. Current certification in CPR.

One year experience working in an OR or endoscopic setting preferred. But not required.
