Job description

Credit Representative

Credit Representatives will be responsible for serving internal and external customers of the Credit Department and managing routine credit tasks. They will apply cash receipts to customer accounts, review customer applications for credit, review and reconcile RMAs, and other tasks as needed. Credit representatives will demonstrate a desire to serve customers, build customer relationships, and create raving fans.

Core Functions :

  • Accurately processes and applies customer payments, ensuring correct allocation to accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve any issues related to unapplied, missing, or incorrect payments.
  • Ensure all payments are applied within the established timeframes to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Partner with accounting to ensure accurate bank and ledger reconciliations are maintained.
  • Issue, communicate, and document credits and adjustments as needed in accordance with established processes.
  • Review and report on collection efforts for past due accounts and assist sales team in collection efforts.
  • Ensure customer statements are updated timely and are accurate.
  • Verify that all customer credit files are complete, accessible, and secure.
  • Work with sales and accounting teams to obtain and maintain Sales Tax Certificates.
  • Generate accurate and timely department reports as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries made to the Credit Department in a timely manner.
  • Work and communicate with Credit Department teammates to ensure goals and KPIs are met.
  • Perform other Credit department duties as assigned by Credit Manager.

  • Education & Experience :

  • Minimum Required : High school diploma or GED required.
  • Physical Demands & Work Environment :

    Work is performed in an office environment. This role will routinely utilize standard office equipment to perform the core functions listed in this job description. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies as well as communicate verbally and electronically. The work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive reading to perform the core functions listed in this job description.
