Emergency Department Registered Nurse

At Ochsner Health, we have been committed to serving our community since 1942. We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our Emergency Department team. As an RN, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while working in a supportive and innovative environment.

This position typically offers an assignment length of 8 weeks, where you will utilize the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. You will be responsible for directing and assisting licensed and ancillary team members while ensuring accountability for quality patient outcomes.

Education

• Required: Registered Nurse Diploma.
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Work Experience

• Required: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Certifications

• Required: Current RN License in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification (within 30 days of hire).
• Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment.
