Job description

SimVentions, a 100% employee-owned company consistently recognized as one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to collaborate with a dynamic team of engineers. You will play a vital role in the design and enhancement of Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS) software, which includes requirements gathering, architectural design, and interface documentation.

Travel : None anticipated

Clearance : An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is necessary to obtain a clearance.

Requirements :

  • 10+ years of systems engineering experience focusing on requirements development and management of software systems; 20 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Two years of experience with Navy surface or submarine shipboard weapons systems, specifically Tomahawk or related missile systems.
  • Experience in requirements definition and initial / detailed system design activities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Analyze and create requirements at different levels (SSS, SSDD, SRS, HRS) for weapon systems.
  • Assess impacts on requirements and design specifications during engineering development.
  • Resolve and document change requests and problem reports related to design documentation discrepancies.
  • Create Candidate Change Packages to develop new system capacities and document impacts.
  • Review and develop system architectures, particularly using MagicDraw.
  • Support human factors engineering and provide analysis for user interface requirements.
  • Manage external interface documents, including updates and comments.
  • Contribute engineering expertise during various review boards and meetings.
  • Effectively communicate engineering findings in written and verbal formats.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience in concept definition and DoD Architecture Framework compliant architecture development.
  • Five years of engineering experience with a major DoD weapon and / or fire control systems program.
  • Education : Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline or equivalent experience (10 years of experience in lieu of a degree).

    Compensation : Compensation at SimVentions reflects various factors, including experience, education, security clearance, and alignment with corporate compensation plans. The projected annual compensation range is $126,000 - $155,000 (USD).
