Pay Information $2,073 per week About The Position Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Medical Surgical Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years of recent experience required License : Active RN license required Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : - Telemetry experience - Ability to read strips - Must be able to titrate down only : Amiodarone & Cardizem - Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start - Must pass a simulation lab on day one of orientation Description : This position requires experience in telemetry. The unit holds 32 beds and includes Orthopedic, Surgical, and Oncology patients. The patient care ratio is 1 : 4 for both days and nights. Charge nurses do not take patients and unit supervisors are available. Patient care technicians are present during day shifts, with one PCT or task RN on night shifts. Weekend commitment includes four weekend shifts every four weeks, with one major and one minor holiday requirement. Navy scrubs are required for this position. GE monitors are used for telemetry, with a central monitoring station technician available for assistance. There is no dedicated IV team, but a house nurse is available for difficult IV access. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7. Shifts are scheduled from 7 am to 7 pm. Floating to telemetry units may be required. Floor-specific orientation will be conducted over two shifts. The common patient diagnoses include 80% surgical cases and 20% oncology cases. Additional elective surgeries performed include knee and hip replacements, along with other urological and abdominal procedures.
