As an Individualized Support Behavior Specialist , you will work one-on-one with students, implementing tailored intervention strategies to enhance their academic and social-emotional success. Your role is crucial in nurturing a positive learning environment and responding to challenges with compassion and creativity.
Key Responsibilities Include :
- Implementing individualized behavior interventions to support academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Encouraging positive student behavior and skillfully managing negative behaviors through effective strategies.
- Maintaining accurate records of student behaviors and intervention plans.
- Collecting and analyzing behavioral data to monitor student progress.
- Providing classroom staff with guidance on monitoring and managing individual behaviors.
- Applying behavior analysis principles to improve outcomes under the direction of certified professionals.
- Conducting behavioral observations to aid in the development of intervention plans.
- Assisting in classroom activities and maintaining an organized learning environment.
- Responding to crisis situations with de-escalation techniques to ensure safety and minimize disruption.
- Documenting behavioral incidents in a thorough and confidential manner.
- Participating in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Supporting students during school-related activities, such as field trips and lunch supervision.
- Other duties as assigned to enhance program effectiveness.
Qualifications Required :
Associate's degree or higher in behavioral sciences or a related field.Currently licensed or in the process of obtaining relevant credentials (e.g., RBT, paraprofessional).Experience working with children in educational or behavioral health settings.Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office and database entry.At ChanceLight, we offer competitive pay starting from $20 - $26 / hour based on experience and a generous $1,000 sign-on bonus.
