Infantry is a branch of an army that engages in military combat on foot, distinguishing itself from cavalry, artillery, and tank forces. As the foundation for advanced schools, infantry training encompasses the use of small arms, anti-tank, and other weapons systems.

Capturing, destroying, and repelling enemy ground forces are key objectives during missions. This career path serves as the starting point for various specialized roles, such as Special Forces, Airborne School, Ranger School, Sniper School, and Pathfinder School.

The essential skills required for this position include evasion techniques, physical and mental strength, and proficiency in weapons operations.

Recruitment requirements include being a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident with a valid Green Card, aged 17 to 34 years old, holding a High School Diploma or GED, meeting Tattoo Guidelines, having no Major Law Violations, and no Medical Concerns.

Accomplishments can be measured through nationally recognized certifications (10 available), completion of 22 weeks of Infantry One Station Unit Training, and achieving a minimum ASVAB score of 77 in Combat (CO).
