Health First Careers is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Orthopedics department. As a Registered Nurse in our MedSurg / Orthopedics unit, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians

Monitor and document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team

Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, and self-care techniques

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Adhere to infection control and safety protocols

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional development

Qualifications

Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida

Minimum of 1 year of experience in MedSurg or Orthopedics nursing

BLS and ACLS certifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends as needed

Work Experience

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

Education

Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing

BSN required

Licensure

Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement.

Certification

Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.

Certification (s) as required by specific unit.

Experience

Must meet unit specific care requirements.

Language

Must be able to speak / understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.

Physical Demands

Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.

Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Must be able to lift, turn, pull, push or ambulate patients / equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift

Potential for exposure to bio-hazardous waste, and known or unknown diseases

Mental Demands

Must have ability to work in often stressful environment with patients / families at various ages and levels of understanding.

Must have ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities.

Must have ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations.

Must have critical thinking and problem solving skills.
