Job description

Knapheide Truck Equipment Center in Miami, FL is looking to hire a full-time Installer to assemble, install, and customize a variety of heavy-duty work truck bodies. This position works Monday - Friday from 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM.

What you'll be doing :

  • Assemble and install equipment such as : service bodies, platforms, van packages, hoists, electrical components and circuits, shelving and drawer systems, ladder racks, and other mechanical items
  • Read work instructions and installation directions
  • Gather materials and properly assemble equipment
  • Test performance before delivering units to a final audit
  • Perform a variety of complicated tasks including (but not limited to) :

    • Diagnostics & repairs of hydraulic equipment, warning light systems, & weight-bearing steel welding repairs

  • Able to read and interpret :

    • Mechanical drawings

  • Hydraulic diagrams
  • Electrical diagrams

    • Experience you'll need :

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Hydraulics experience is required
  • Automotive accessory electrical knowledge required
  • Trade specific secondary education preferred
  • ASE truck equipment related certification in E1, E2 & E3 is preferred but not required.
  • AWS Welding certification is preferred but not required
