About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Shift : Night Shift

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Two (2) years current experience required

License : State Nursing License (Compact State accepted)

Certifications : BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certifications required

Must-Have :

• BLS must be completed through an approved organization.
• Traveler must pass the BCA testing during the first week of assignment.

Description :

Floating between departments and local locations within a defined distance is required.

Responsible for assessing all triage patients over 20 weeks of gestation.

Utilize obstetric triage acuity tools for patient evaluation.

Conduct labor assessment and fetal evaluation.

Evaluate for labor at term, signs of preterm labor, signs and symptoms of preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, and vaginal bleeding.

Stabilize patients in acute and critical conditions for delivery or transfer to a higher level of care as needed.

Provide intrapartum care including labor assessment and fetal assessment.

Prepare expectant mothers for safe delivery and administrate necessary medications.

Ensure immediate stabilization of newborns and administer newborn medications.

Prepare for scheduled or emergency cesarean deliveries.

Conduct assessment and care of postpartum patients following vaginal and cesarean deliveries.

Provide comprehensive newborn care including hearing screenings, laboratory draws, IV starts, medication administration, and assistance with circumcisions.

Stabilize critically ill newborns for transport and provide necessary care for conditions such as hypoglycemia.
