Job Title : Cost Analyst
Location : Downtown Houston, TX (Fully onsite)
Pay : $40-$55 / hour
Job Type : long term contract

Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Project Analyst / Cost Analyst to partner with Engineering Project Managers and provide cost controls support on large-scale capital projects ($500MM+). This role requires someone highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing financial analysis with project reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Project Managers to deliver cost controls support across multi-million and billion-dollar projects.
- Evaluate and communicate the cost impact of scope changes, contract values, cost trends, escalation, contingencies, and fee structures .
- Manage project approval workflows, invoice coding / tracking, retainage payments, and contract compliance.
- Track Actuals vs. Commitments , prepare monthly forecasts , and provide quarterly accruals .
- Assist in drafting contracts / work offers, re-classes, and maintaining complete project documentation.
- Deliver project metrics, cash flow reporting, and executive-level updates.
- Create and maintain Excel reports (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data mining, large dataset management).
- Collaborate with Analysts, PMs, and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve project-related issues.
- Adapt quickly to ad-hoc requests and shifting project priorities.
Requirements
5–10 years of relevant experience (project analyst, cost analyst, or similar role).Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Construction Management , or equivalent experience.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to professionally challenge assumptions and provide sound judgment.Proficiency with financial software packages and project approval systems.Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, manipulating large data sets).Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the pipeline or transportation industry .Familiarity with SAP systems .Exposure to large-scale joint venture projects.Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
