POSITION OVERVIEW : As a Mechanic at LJA Telecom , you will be responsible for regular preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues using computerized diagnostics or manual methods, and repair or replace engine, transmission, brake, fuel, electrical, suspension, and exhaust system components
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE :
Regular vehicle servicing with preventative maintenanceIdentify mechanical faults through computerized diagnostic equipment or manually pinpointing sources of trouble that could not be found by the diagnostic mechanismReplace or repair of any part of the engineRepair and servicing vehicle transmission systemsMaintain and repair the brake system, such as disc and drum brakesCarry out diagnosis and repair of problems in the electrical system, including the battery, starter, and alternatorPerform wheel alignments and tire servicesReplace or repair suspension and steering componentsTest for emissions and work towards getting the emissions within the proper limitsReplace exhaust systemsChange oil, along with any needed fluid servicesReplace or repair fuel system componentsService or repair hybrid and electric vehicle systemsMaintain and repair hydraulic systems in applicable vehiclesRecord all repairs or maintenance in the appropriate occupational reportsCommunicate to clients, in non-technical language, reviewed repairs and maintenance that the technician has identifiedProvide repair estimates and repair timelines and seek customer approval for work orderWork to maintain awareness and working knowledge of new automotive technologies and to attend professional development on technical practicesFollow proper safety protocols and maintain an organized, clean work area.Carry out engine tune-ups to make the vehicle perform the best it possibly can.Road calls to service company trucksMust have some toolsREQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS :
Valid driver’s license required.High school or GEDREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
