Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the company's accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and supporting both property management and leasing activities. Approximately 10-15% of this position will involve leasing-related responsibilities, making prior experience in lease accounting highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee full-cycle accounting including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.

Manage AP / AR, fixed assets, and support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.

Partner with property management to ensure accurate allocation of expenses and revenue recognition.

Support audits and tax filings while ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Leasing responsibilities (~15%) :

Review and track lease agreements for financial impact.

Prepare and maintain lease schedules including rent escalations, CAM reconciliations, and tenant deposits.

Work with leasing and property teams to ensure accurate lease data and reporting.

Collaborate with development, construction, and property management teams for project cost tracking and profitability analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within real estate.

Experience with MRI or Yardi software required

Strong Excel skills; experience with real estate or property management systems a plus.

Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
