Job descriptionProvide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate. Monitor access points to help control entry and exit, verifying credentials and maintaining visitor logs as required by site procedures. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, alerting appropriate personnel when necessary. Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and observe for unusual activity. Report any security-related incidents, hazards, or suspicious activities promptly to the appropriate authorities or management. Maintain a visible presence at designated access control points to help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas. Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and / or contractors, providing directions or assistance as needed. Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available Possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only. As a Security Professional - Unarmed Site - Part Time in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a vital role in maintaining a secure environment at a busy marine terminal location. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and assisting with badge access to help control the flow of personnel and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols throughout designated areas, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents and provide support to those on site. Exceptional customer service and communication skills are key, as you will interact regularly with employees, contractors, and guests. - Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
