About The Position

Job Title : RN Clinical Nurse

Certifications : BLS, NRP (within 180 days if provisional)

Description :

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers.

They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care.

They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders.

Support is provided through a shared governance model.

Nursing practice is guided by a professional practice model, evidence-based practice, and research.

All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing.

They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards outlined by the relevant nursing association.

As a member of the patient services team, the individual upholds the voice of the patient while supporting service excellence goals.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions :

The RN Clinical Nurse performs the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care.

This process is conducted using evidence-based practice and analytical / critical thinking.

They provide relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.

Partners with patients and significant others to keep them informed and make their goals the focus of the care plan.

Practices using current clinical standards.

Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care.

Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration with all healthcare team members.

Participates in performance improvement activities inclusive of all stakeholders.

Supports and participates in shared governance at all system levels.

Completes all required education and competency assessments.

Serves as a preceptor and / or mentor for other professional nurses to ensure a qualified workforce.

Promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research while participating in data collection.

Proactively plans for patient care across the continuum while supporting efficient use of resources.

Participates in the development of protocols and procedures for best practice outcomes.

Performs other duties as assigned while complying with all organizational policies and procedures.
