Overview
Development Program Manager (Q-Systems : Low Voltage / Networking) at QTS Data Centers. The role focuses on leading and managing Q-Systems (with a focus on network infrastructure / telecom) for design, pre-construction and construction activities across the portfolio. Daily interaction with Facilities, Contractors, Designers, Engineers, Commissioning Agents, Vendors, and Data Center Operations staff. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage the design, pre-construction and construction activities on a given project. Interact daily with Facilities, Contractors, Designers, Engineers, Commissioning Agents, Vendors, and Data Center Operations staff.
- Provide program-level support for network infrastructure deployments across the portfolio.
- Coordinate with QTS network infrastructure and technology teams to ensure infrastructure meets facility needs.
- Support the Q-Systems team with network infrastructure coordination.
- Manage port schedule creation for development projects.
- Review project designs to ensure compliance with QTS system standards and Basis of Design documents.
- Create and communicate updates on development program and project status for executive reviews; present information to support efficient decision making.
- Implement and manage multi-phased site development plans to meet time, budget, and quality standards; maintain a campus master plan for predictable statistics.
- Write scopes of work for design, construction, commissioning services; participate in procurement and project cost estimates.
- Evaluate and level pricing proposals for design, construction, and commissioning services.
- Establish project schedules and manage teams toward on-time completion.
- Develop plans for product deployment and review / communicate plans with QTS staff involved.
- Establish and maintain relationships as liaison with key QTS stakeholders.
- Represent QTS Q-Systems interests in OAC and low voltage meetings.
- Review project implementations to ensure compliance with approved design documents, QTS system standards and Basis of Design documents.
- Create and build relationships that enhance QTS's leadership in data center real estate.
- Collaborate with internal development teams to enhance project management processes and protocols.
- Develop relationships with QTS Facility Operations Technology teams to understand needs and deliver technologies that support facility operations.
What You Will Need to be Successful (basic qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science or Engineering or equivalent professional experience.Eight or more years of professional experience in building controls, security, and / or low voltage commercial design and construction from concept through procurement to closeout.Experience with Microsoft Office suite.Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (average travel every other week for 2–3 days).US Citizenship is required by law due to federal customer contracts.Other Key Skills
