POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for general administration and oversight of University Health pathology services at all ambulatory facilities. Promotes the University Health Customer Relations policy.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in medical technology or an appropriate biological / chemical / medical science from an accredited college or university is required. Five years of related, progressively responsible health care experience is required. Successful completion of a structured clinical program (CAHEA approved) and certification in clinical laboratory sciences by a recognized certifying agency or completion of accredited structured clinical program and certification by a recognized certifying agency prior to 1963 or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate biological / chemical / medical science from an accredited college or university and a clinical laboratory specialist certification is required. Masters degree in Business or Health Care Administration is preferred.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) or United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare (HEW) is required.
