Key Responsibilities
Support the Safety Manager with all safety-related tasks, including coordinating safety training, updating training files, and preparing EH&S documents such as Site Safety Specific Plans.
Provide employees with necessary safety documentation.
Actively participate as a member of B&I’s Safety Committee.
Conduct New Hire Safety Orientations and other company safety training programs as designated by the Safety Manager.
Maintain site documentation, conduct site inspections, and oversee safety training initiatives.
Coordinate safety-related training for employees as requested by managers.
Maintain weekly toolbox talk topics and track employee participation.
Conduct weekly job site safety inspections.
Maintain a file for Notices of Violations (NOVs) issued by general contractors or regulatory entities.
Ensure all supervisory personnel understand the Post-Accident Drug Testing protocol, including proper handling of Chain of Custody forms.
Collaborate with the Safety Manager to monitor and track the frequency and severity of injuries, identifying and mitigating potential risk factors.
Qualifications
Must be bilingual (English / Spanish).
Electrical Safety Compliance Training
Lockout / Tagout Training
Knowledge of Electrical Standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910 and 1926 Standards)
Experience in a commercial construction environment
OSHA 30, Fall Protection, and Forklift Safety certifications are a plus
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management
Adherence to all B&I safety procedures
Pre-employment drug test, background check, and clean driving record required
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds frequently. Employees must perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. All manual material handling must comply with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize the risk of injury.
