Marine Structural Engineer / Manager - Senior Level

Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. Our Savannah, GA office is actively searching for a Senior Marine Structural Engineer / Manager in to serve as a technical lead on waterfront structures projects. As the successful new hire, you will be actively engaged on large port development projects for the Georgia Ports Authority. This position will also work with teams across the company on a variety of structural projects related to marine and transportation infrastructure engineering.

Duties and responsibilities :

• Establish Design Standards : Develop and maintain standards for the design of marine structures and foundations, utilizing various materials including cast-in-place and prestressed concrete, steel, and timber
• Project Leadership : Lead the technical aspects of projects with construction costs ranging from $5.0M to $150M, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and schedule
• Technical Oversight : Provide guidance and technical leadership to junior staff members within the structural team, ensuring adherence to industry best practices
• Collaboration : Interface and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers to ensure seamless integration of structural design within overall project objectives
• Structural Analysis and Design : Conduct structural analysis and design, perform thorough QA / QC reviews, and prepare project deliverables including plans, calculations, specifications, estimates, reports, and memorandums
• Business Development : Contribute to proposals and business development activities, fostering relationships with new and existing clients to identify and pursue opportunities for growth
• Committee Involvement : Participate in technical committees both internally and externally, representing Moffatt & Nichol and contributing expertise to industry discussions and advancements
• Training and Development : Actively participate in the training and mentorship of junior staff members, supporting their professional growth and development within the Company
• Quality Assurance : Conduct quality reviews of deliverables, serving as a Senior Technical Reviewer to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements
• Client Interaction : Engage directly with clients, providing technical expertise, addressing concerns, and building strong relationships to enhance client satisfaction and project success
