Job descriptionAccepted Boards : ABEM or AOBEM only Not Accepted : ABIM or ABFM Certifications : ACLS & BLS (current) Clinical Experience : Minimum 2 years of recent hospital-based practice in Emergency Medicine Explanation for any clinical gaps exceeding 3 months Current case logs required for surgical specialties Anesthesia : Rapid airway management, sedation protocols, and perioperative stabilization Cardio-Thoracic Surgery : Initial assessment and stabilization of thoracic trauma, cardiac emergencies, and post-op complications Catheterization Lab : Triage and transfer of STEMI / NSTEMI patients; familiarity with cath lab protocols General Surgery : Evaluation and coordination for acute abdomen, trauma, and surgical consults Laboratory : Interpretation of critical labs, coordination for STAT testing, and blood product management Neurosurgery : Initial management of head trauma, stroke alerts, and spinal emergencies OR Response Time : Timely coordination with surgical teams for emergent operative cases Orthopedic Surgery : Management of fractures, dislocations, and musculoskeletal trauma Radiology : Ordering and interpreting emergent imaging; coordination for interventional radiology when needed Vascular Surgery : Recognition and stabilization of vascular emergencies including aneurysms, ischemia, and hemorrhage Mileage or ride share from provider’s home to departing airport and return Airport parking at departing airport (if driving) Ride share / taxi from destination airport to lodging and hospital / clinic Rental car insurance (must be pre-approved prior to booking) Embrace a culture of lifelong learning and professional development in locum assignments, continually seeking opportunities to expand knowledge, skills, and expertise throughout your career journey.
