Unit : 6N Overflow – Medical Surgical (Med / Surg)

Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 25 / 2025 – End : 1 / 24 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts, including weekends as scheduled

Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1820–$1950

Bed Count : 30

Patient Ratios : 1 : 6 / 7

Charting System : EPIC

Scrub Color : Navy Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in any state

Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical (Med / Surg) nursing experience

BLS (AHA) certification required

NIHSS certification required

Ability to manage patient ratios up to 1 : 7

Willingness to float to other units as needed based on census

Submission must include a copy of candidate's unexpired driver's license

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality clinical care to patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI

Monitor and titrate heparin drips according to aPTT results

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses and patient care technicians (PCTs)

Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for accurate and timely documentation

Participate in weekend and holiday scheduling as required

Float to other nursing units as needed to support hospital staffing

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including the 50-mile radius rule
