IT PROJECT MANAGER

Summary :

Leads projects of medium to high complexity, and may also support to projects of high complexity, as part of a program team in collaboration with a Senior Project Manager and / or Program Manager.

Responsible to achieve project objectives and completion on time, on budget, and in conformance to client IT methodologies and practices. Solicits technological input from senior technical resources assigned to their project team(s), and facilitates technology problem-solving activities.

Responsibilities :

• Manages projects with budget responsibility up to (USD) million, and may require matrix supervision of staff from other IT departments and divisions, and contractor / vendor resources. Contingent upon the project, may present project requests to institutional committees and oversight bodies to receive approval and project direction and input.
• May support senior level project / program managers in strategic planning processes.
• Makes judgments and takes reasonable and prudent actions to accomplish agreed upon project objectives under minimal direct supervision. Advises other IT staff regarding project management practices, methods and standards. Routinely demonstrates the Project Focused Culture within the Information Technology department. Manages multiple competing objectives, prioritizes, and communicates complex technical information in clear and unambiguous terms to management and end user personnel.
• Assures strict adherence to budget management and guidelines of both the Information Technology department and the institution. May participate in the development and tracking of project budgets.
• Performs additional job-related functions as detailed by immediate supervisor.
