Velocity-X is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed professional to fill the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer to support our team in Northern Virginia.

Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable AI / ML computing infrastructures and application stacks.
  • Build and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions from scratch.
  • Transform machine learning models into APIs for integration with other applications.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver AI solutions.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and interpret results to guide and optimize decision-making.
  • Manage data ingestion, preprocessing, and feature engineering to ensure data quality for model training.
  • Optimize AI algorithms for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AI and machine learning advancements, research, and tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AI-related issues, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of AI applications.
  • Document architecture roadmaps, reference architectures, and standard operating procedures for AI solutions.
  • Potentially lead cross-functional teams in identifying and prioritizing areas where AI can provide business benefits.
  • Advise stakeholders on AI strategy, technology, and policy issues.
  • Automate AI infrastructures for the data science team.
  • Evaluate and implement best practices in AI / ML, data mining, and analytics.

Qualifications :

  • Master’s in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
  • 10+ years experience with 3+ years of demonstrated and related industry experience
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, and / or R.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, and / or PyTorch.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning), deep learning, and neural networks.
  • Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques. Familiarity with data management and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, SQL, NoSQL databases).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI / ML services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to articulate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of basic algorithms, object-oriented and functional design principles.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
