Join Icomera's mission to deliver cutting-edge connectivity solutions that keep passengers connected on buses and trains across the U.S. As a Field Service Engineer based in Los Angeles, CA , you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and installing next-generation onboard Wi-Fi and networking technology. This hands-on role combines problem-solving, travel, and collaboration with a global engineering team. This role requires the ability to quickly assess, troubleshoot and resolve problems. In addition, the FSE will also be required to assist in the delivery, installation, and commissioning of new solutions. The FSE will report to the Field Systems Engineering Manager. You will be part of our global team across all locations such as Germany, UK, Italy, France and Sweden, where the Icomera HQ is located.

Responsibilities

  • Deep system fault resolution across all Icomera and approved 3rd party products.
  • On-site technical support, troubleshooting and equipment replacement of Icomera and approved 3rd party products. Install, configure, commission, and service Icomera and approved third-party equipment on trains and buses.
  • Participate in First of Class Installations Service testing and analysis Onsite installation surveys.
  • Perform proactive maintenance to keep systems operating at peak performance.

You should be driven and be able to form long-term trusting relationships both internally and externally. You should be a highly organized self-starter who can prioritize delivering high quality results according to demanding timelines. You make sure to support your colleagues when they need it, and in turn they will be there to support you. Occasional travel to HQ as well as train rides will be necessary.

Qualifications

  • In-depth experience of troubleshooting and resolving network issues
  • Computer Science or Electrical Engineering background degree or equivalent relevant technical experience
  • Wireless and data network telecommunications / IT experience
  • Highly dependable team player with excellent interpersonal skills to communicate both verbal and written on various levels
  • A self-start hands on leader that thrives in a challenging and upstart environment providing cutting edge solutions
  • Ability to work flexible hours at times outside normal business hours and travel throughout the Icomera US Region
  • Proficient administrative skills to comply with customer specific processes and procedures, and day-to-day communication with team
  • Ability to manage and update spare parts and on-site inventory
  • Experience in working within the passenger transport industries
  • Basic knowledge of Linux based operating systems
  • Experience working with IP based networks
  • Knowledge of the mobile network landscape and technologies
  • Comfortable working in rail and bus environments with adherence to all safety protocols
