Overview
Title : Media Analyst
Location : Remote
Schedule : A portion of the workday requires coverage from 4 : 00 AM to 6 : 00 AM daily, with the remaining hours scheduled based on media release timing. Weekend work is required. Reports include all media types and must be current with updated data included an hour before the deadline.
Responsibilities
News Clippings
- Provide oversight of the team in managing news briefings
- Ensure all deliverables are placed through a robust quality control process
- Lead process improvement to streamline processes
- Identify and clip agency-relevant news articles using platforms such as Meltwater and LexisNexis
- Sort news clips into groups and list under applicable headers, prioritizing by importance and agency priorities
- Summarize news clips
- Find and review articles and broadcasts from major and daily newspapers, national television, cable news, local markets, and other media
- Determine which aspects of each story are important to the client and edit out redundant or irrelevant information
- Ensure content is fresh with low incidence of day-old news
- Search news stories for daily briefing presentation based on keywords and refine keywords as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Social Media Monitoring
Utilize social listening platforms to develop reports, alerts, or notifications to detect emerging trendsAnticipate and address client needs by identifying influential individuals, organizations, and audience groupingsInterpret insights and trends and present findings concisely with a BLUF approachDevelop proposals to bring in new business, including analysis to inform proposals and refining SOPs or templatesOther duties as assignedBusiness Development
Prepare proposals by determining concepts, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining approvalsSupport developing winning themes and strategies by identifying opportunities, studying RFPs, and attending strategy meetingsGather proposal information, coordinate submissions, and communicate risksWrite proposal content for technical, management, staffing, and past performance sectionsQualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitudeMust have experience in media monitoringMust have at least a bachelor’s degreeMinimum of 3 years of experienceAbility to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple concurrent projectsStrong writing and editing skills with the ability to distill complex information into concise analysesKnowledge of traditional media monitoring tools and practicesWorking knowledge of social listening tools such as Meltwater or LexisNexis (preferred)Ability to work independentlyProficient in Microsoft 365Benefits at Red Carrot :
