Associate Attorney – HOA Law (3+ Years Experience)

SJJ Law is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of HOA / community association law experience to join our Denver office. This is a hands-on role for an attorney who excels at advising HOAs, property managers, and multi-unit housing clients, while handling general civil legal matters.

You’ll work closely with clients, mentor junior attorneys, and contribute to the growth of a collaborative, client-focused practice.

Preference will be given to candidates with a portable book of business, but that is not a requirement.

• Key Responsibilities
• Advise HOA boards and property managers on compliance, enforcement, collections, and governing documents
• Draft, review, and interpret declarations, bylaws, rules, contracts, and resolutions
• Handle contracts, disputes, demand letters, and negotiations
• Represent clients in administrative hearings or court proceedings as needed
• Provide strategic guidance on legal risks, options, and solutions
• Manage deadlines, billable work, and supervise legal assistants
• Mentor junior attorneys and support practice growth
• Maintain timely, professional client communication
• Stay current on legislative updates in property, real estate, and HOA law
• Perform a minimum of 1500 billable hours annually
• Qualifications
• Required :
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active Colorado law license
• 3+ years of HOA / community association law experience
• Strong legal writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software
• Preferred :
• Experience with HOAs, property managers, or common interest communities
• Familiarity with Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act (CCIOA)
• Experience drafting and interpreting governing documents and contracts

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
