Materials Management Tech
The Materials Management Tech is responsible for procuring all hospital supplies except food and drugs. The position's responsibilities include receiving, stocking, and case-pulling supplies and assisting Accounts Payable with receivers. Other duties are assigned by the Materials Manager.
Responsibilities include :
- Performing receiving and shipping of materials and equipment, staging incoming and out-going supplies and equipment, stock put-away and rotation, cycle-counting, PAR and requisition replenishment, order filling and delivery to user departments throughout the facility.
- Replenishing PAR managed supplies in correct bin locations, rotating stock and checking expiration date.
- Ensuring accurate and timely replenishment processes and working effectively with clinical departments to address supply requirements.
- Being responsible for the daily surgical case pulling and monitoring schedule for add on cases.
- Making updates to stock file as needed to maintain an accurate database.
- Participating in quarterly inventory, assuring accurate counts.
- Attending hospital and department in-services and meetings when required.
- Demonstrating discretionary ability in establishing priorities.
- Enforcing good housekeeping practices daily to eliminate congestion, clutter, and safety hazards and maintaining a neat and orderly appearance of the dock, receiving, and staging areas.
- Working closely with A / P to achieve smooth invoice processing, resolving invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Performing all other duties assigned by the Director of Materials Management and / or MM Supervisor.
Required Skills :
High school graduate or equivalent preferredOne year minimum OR Materials Management experience required.Customer ServiceType minimum of 40 wpm preferred.Computer experience is helpful.Able to deal tactfully with public and other staff members.Must possess the ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
