Position Summary :
Under the immediate direction of the Senior / Lead Mechanic, the Diesel Mechanic performs repairs on mobile equipment, including ready mix trucks, front end loaders, and trailers. 60 / 40 work split between Shop and mobile repairs at Concrete Ready-Mix plants.

Education / Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent GED required
 - Minimum 5 years Mobile Equipment Maintenance Experience, Ready Mix Maintenance Experience, preferred
 - Trade School or related mechanical / technical certification
 - Commercial Driver License (CDL) and safe driving record preferred.
 
Knowledge / Skill Requirements
Knowledge of repair and maintenance of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, transmissions, brakes, drivelines and other automotive systems to perform repair workBasic welding skillsAbility to read and write in English40 hours per week and overtime on an as needed basisWork Requirements
Observes and listens to truck in operation to determine malfunctions.Use diagnostic software to do advanced troubleshootingReads manuals, uses hand tools, power tools to perform repairs and maintenance to electrical systems, power transmissions, brakes, drivelines and other automotive systems to perform repair workReplaces rollers and other wear items as requiredPerforms welding, repair and fabricationAssists Senior Mechanic as neededPerforms data entry on all services performedOperates mobile equipment as neededDelivers technical advice to Ready Mix Truck Drivers and other mobile equipment operators.Maintains parts inventory and orders of parts and supplies as neededDemonstrates good knowledge of lock out / tag out procedure required during certain proceduresMay make service calls at other plants or emergency roadside repairs as neededAssists with training co-workers as neededGeneral clean-up of work areasFollows safety policies and procedures as writtenParticipates in the shop safety program and conduct tailgate safety meeting.Performs other duties as requiredPhysical Requirements
