Responsibilities
- Manage scholarship funds for the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships (OFAS), including institutional, foundation, and external scholarships.
- Oversee Federal and State scholarships requiring an application process (e.g., TEACH and WAVE).
- Manage Private and Alternative loan programs and act as a subject matter expert to post, adjust, and return scholarship awards and funds.
- Document processes, mitigate risks and liabilities, determine eligibility based on cost of attendance, and handle sensitive student data with internal partners.
- Communicate complex financial aid matters with OFAS staff and other departments (e.g., Student Accounts, Foundation, Veterans, Athletics).
- Generate ideas for ongoing development and implementation of office policies, procedures, forms, and related items.
- Collaborate with the Director and Associate Directors of OFAS to implement yearly changes and improvements to the scholarship process.
- Support the Office of Admissions, College in the High School, Running Start, and the Transfer Center with recruiting and assisting incoming students and their support networks.

Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, Counseling, or related field.Working knowledge of federal financial aid regulations and accounting / reconciliation processes.Ability to manage high-volume work with deadlines and peak processing periods.Professional ethics with the ability to handle sensitive information and work in a collaborative team environment.Experience with office technologies (Microsoft Office, internet tools, etc.) and accurate data entry with attention to detail.Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Independent problem-solving, adaptability, and logical decision-making abilities.Experience or ability to work with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.Any applicable combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform essential functions.Preferred qualifications
Experience in higher education financial aid.Experience with high school and / or college students and 1 year of full-time experience in financial aid or scholarships.Experience with PeopleSoft, Banner, or similar ERMS.Public speaking, development and implementation of financial aid regulatory procedures, and managing large, complex processes.Commitment to improving access to higher education and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.Salary details
Salary ranges
This position has a minimum annual salary of $49,833 and maximum $69,766. Tiered ranges (Tier 1 : $49,833 - $56,477; Tier 2 : $56,477 - $63,122; Tier 3 : $63,122 - $69,766) may apply based on experience. Placement within the range is determined by qualifications and experience.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement is based on candidate experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8 : 00am–5 : 00pm (1-hour lunch); occasional evenings and weekends.
Working conditions
Indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. Prolonged desk / computer work, data entry, and documentation tasks. Some evening or weekend work and occasional travel may be required.
