What You'll Do :

As a Process Safety Engineer you'll be at the forefront of our innovation of being accountable for the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of the Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) program at our Bayport / Deer Park site. The Process Safety Engineer will provide engineering leadership in various aspects of Process Safety with a mission towards providing engineering and risk management solutions for the Lubrizol Corporation’s Bayport / Deer Park Operating facility, to ensure safe and reliable operations. The Process Safety Engineer will be equipped with the required skills and knowledge, and thereby also expected to be able to work independently to primarily support our Bayport / Deer Park facility.

What We're Looking For :

Provide day-to-day process safety support for assigned units, including : Facilitate PHA revalidation and Capital Projects PHAs, LOPA, and prepare for and Complete PHA management reviews with final reports. Participate in incident investigations, help classify Process Safety incidents and participate in / lead investigations as needed.

Review Management of Change requests, including support for determining when a Process Hazard Analysis is needed. Participate in PSSRs.

Management of action items entry with tracking in the database and work with units to facilitate action item closure. Support in providing guidance for ALARP and IPL determination.

Support management of KPIs, update Reactivity Matrices as needed for assigned units and support PSM Manual Updates / Revision.

Support in ASVS program compliance including gap assessment and developing compliance plan.

• Manage development and implementation of both tactical and strategic PSM and RMP programs. Serve as PSM point of contact, providing regulatory compliance guidance for PSM / RMP programs. Advise and assist Managers, Supervisors, Engineers and Contractor Safety Representatives to ensure that the site operates within Lubrizol’s process safety policies and performance standards.
• Participate in site and Lubrizol corporate process safety initiatives to develop and implement site procedures and technical guidelines associated with PSM / RMP elements, to ensure company standardization of process safety practices. Perform gap analysis to standardize Lubrizol PSM / RMP work processes.
• Support and lead Process PSM audits as needed locally and regionally.
• Develop and provide relevant Process Safety training for the site.
