Roll Off Site Substitute

Northern Montana Joint Refuse Roll Off is looking for Roll Off site substitutes for all locations. General purpose : Performs routine clerical and administrative work in receiving the public, providing customer assistance, cashiering, property management, security, recordkeeping, custodial, container placement, opening, loading and closing.

Essential duties : Greet Rolloff site customers and directs to appropriate location, answers questions concerning fees, dumping, hazardous wastes, recycling and other related matters or refers customers to supervisor as necessary. Measures vehicles entering the roll off sites, identifies contents of vehicle and calculates the appropriate fee charged for dumping. Screens in-coming loads for hazardous materials. Receives receipts and records all incoming loads, collects dumping fees, performs routine posting of records, balances daily cash receipts. Attendant is directly responsible for keeping site and surrounding area clean and litter free. Roll off site building is to be kept clean and orderly. May be required to provide backup to other roll off site locations.

Minimum qualifications : High school graduate or HI-SET (GED) equivalent and one (1) year of related experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Necessary knowledge, skills and abilities : Ability to use a calculator, cell phone, variety of hand tools; roll off containers and associated equipment. Ability to perform cashier duties accurately. Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to use a cell phone effectively. Ability to work effectively with other district employees including supervisor. Ability to handle stressful situations. Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.

Tools and equipment used : Cell phone, calculator, hand tools such as rakes, shovels, brooms, hand winch, roll off containers, etc.

Physical demands : Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb or balance, smell, hear, and talk. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee must constantly lift and / or move up to 65 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment : While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet, muddy, and / or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
