Job Description :

The Florida Planets Lab group led by PI Stephen Elardo seeks a postdoctoral associate for a NASA-funded project related to Fe isotope systematics in planetary materials. The postdoctoral associate will conduct research related to iron isotopic compositions in planetary bodies and magmatic processes using high-pressure and -temperature isotope exchange experiments. Measurements will be made on the experimental run products using MC-ICP-MS and the postdoctoral associate will make the measurements, analyze the data, prepare manuscripts, and present the results at conferences. There will be opportunities for mentoring student researchers.

Performs or supervises research on assigned projects. Coordinates project activities and repots on progress. Writes articles for publication. Prepares research and presents to applicable parties as needed. Compiles data for funding proposals. Trains and mentors subordinate research associates and undergraduate students. Assists with the writing of funding proposals.

Expected Salary :

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications :

PhD in Earth and Planetary Sciences, Geological Sciences, or a closely related field.

Preferred :

Experience with clean lab chemistry and isotope ratio measurements.

Experience with iron isotope geochemistry.
