23 weeks, 21 beds)

Start Date : November 17, 2025

End Date : February 14, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Hours per Week : 36

Shift : 12-hour rotating days / nights (no split shifts in the same week)

Call : 1-2 call shifts per 6 weeks possible

Floating : May occasionally float within New Life or to other NICUs in the Richmond area

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1990 - $2130

NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required for all travel nursing jobs)

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (required)

2.5-3 years of recent NICU nursing experience (required)

Proficiency with cooling, ventilators, JET, and Oscillators (required)

Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Richmond, VA (no local candidates)

Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a clinical setting

NICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, family-centered neonatal care in a Level 3B NICU environment

Operate advanced medical equipment, including Medfusion pumps, PICC lines, umbilical lines, Giraffe Shuttle, JET, and Oscillator ventilators

Perform body cooling procedures and provide critical care to ill infants

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans

Educate and support families throughout the NICU stay

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and healthcare regulations

Participate in ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Float to other NICU units in the Richmond healthcare system as needed
