Description and Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Achieve annualized new business sales of $200k in our target market of companies with 200-2,000 employees. Retain at least 92% of business year over year with support from leadership and account management staff.
  • Meet new business activity and appointment quality goals.
  • Research prospects using USI resources and develop customized messaging.
  • Explain USI’s competitive advantages to clients and prospects.
  • Develop and execute sales plans and prospecting strategies.
  • Innovate for clients with market knowledge and technical insurance expertise.
  • Participate in meetings, webinars, and industry events.
  • Prepare for appointments, and focus on closing and retaining business.
  • Use USI’s CRM and sales tools to support processes and provide accurate data.
  • Engage in industry training and sales support programs.
  • Pursue cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the account management team on client services.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of competitors.
  • Represent USI positively at events and networking opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • At least 3 years of successful sales experience in insurance brokerage.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Life and Health insurance license required.
  • Strong knowledge of Employee Benefits.
  • Personable, motivated, goal-oriented.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Organized with strong follow-up skills.
  • Resourceful and positive approach with prospects and clients.
  • Well-connected in the HR and benefits community.
  • Excellent listening skills and customer focus.
  • Ability to interact with senior management and demonstrate executive presence.
