Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care within the Radiology department. Your responsibilities will encompass the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care based on established clinical protocols and provider orders. You’ll collaborate closely with a dedicated healthcare team, creating a supportive and empathetic environment for both patients and their families.
Essential Functions
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in compliance with organizational policies and the nursing process.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, document findings accurately, and communicate changes in patient conditions to the care team promptly.
- Apply knowledge of human growth and development to provide age-appropriate care and education.
- Administer medications as prescribed, monitor for side effects, and document the process in accordance with industry standards.
- Assist physicians during procedures within your documented competencies and skill levels.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create, implement, and evaluate personalized care plans based on patient assessments.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and engage in life-saving interventions such as CPR and code team activities.
- Advocate for patient rights and needs, ensuring their voices are acknowledged in care planning.
- Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Implement infection control protocols diligently to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Operate and monitor medical equipment, such as IV pumps and ventilators, ensuring patient safety and care standards.
- Prioritize patient safety by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining a safe environment.
- Participate in audits and compliance checks to uphold standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
- Make informed decisions in care planning, delegating responsibilities appropriately based on patient needs and policies.
- Document patient care and education meticulously in medical records.
- Engage in professional development activities to enhance clinical competencies and stay updated on nursing standards.
- Contribute to performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and care processes.

Qualifications
0-2 years of experience in clinical nursing or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
In-depth understanding of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices.Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.Proficiency in medication administration and monitoring for side effects.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in patient care documentation.Knowledge of safety standards, infection control practices, and quality improvement initiatives.Licenses and Certifications
