Overview
Position Summary : Under minimal supervision, performs diagnostic and service work on residential and / or light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customer to answer questions, resolves problems, and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customer. Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Works under minimal supervision to perform residential and / or light commercial service and maintenance calls
- Analyzes, diagnoses, and resolves customer problems in a courteous, professional, timely, and accurate manner
- Diagnoses and performs services on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment as well as accessories in an accurate and timely manner
- Inspects equipment and performs diagnostics to identify potential problems to prevent premature breakdowns or callbacks
- Completes routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed or required
- Responsible for delivery and removal of parts and equipment needed to complete service work
- Records required information on a hand-held device, completes forms and paperwork neatly and accurately, and collects payment from customer
- Communicates with dispatch to provide accurate status reports of activities and availability
- Delivers excellent customer service and sustains high levels of customer satisfaction
- Promotes products and services to customers and communicates replacement product sales leads to Sales and Service Coordinator
- Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are used, maintained, and accounted for
- Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically
- Follows standard procedures, ensures vehicles are stocked, handles warranty parts returns, and replenishes vehicle stock as needed
- Performs similar or other duties as needed or assigned

High school diploma or GED with 2 to 5 years' HVAC experience and technical training certificationValid licensing / certification as required by local laws for the work areaEPA and safety certifications requiredSkilled at servicing HVAC equipment and related accessoriesProficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipmentAbility to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, and duct systemsAbility to start up and balance airflow, align belts and pulleys, and install basic duct fittingsAbility to troubleshoot and repair electronic air cleaners, refrigeration systems, hot water systems, boilers, humidifiersStrong communication and time-management skillsValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordAvailable to work flexible hours and on-call shiftsPhysical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, access tight spaces, lift up to 75 poundsEqual Employment Opportunity
