Medical Assistant

The medical assistant's primary responsibility is to assist in the delivery of healthcare support for the practice. The medical assistant is a professional member of the interdisciplinary team and consistently demonstrates and promotes the values of the organization. Job duties and responsibilities include : conducting pre-visit planning, completing pre-charting, preparing patients for examination, providing other patient care services, communicating and coordinating with providers, actively participating in department activities, disposing of bio-hazardous waste and regular waste, maintaining vaccine temperature logs, performing other administrative tasks, and bringing suggestions for improvement.
Physical and sensory requirements include sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time, as well as occasional lifting and pushing of wheelchairs. Education requirements include a high school degree or equivalent and graduation from an accredited medical assistant program. Training and experience in a similar healthcare setting and customer service experience are preferred. BLS / CPR certification is required.
