Job description

Chief Operating Officer (COO) Manufacturing

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company in Los Angeles, is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead all aspects of operations. This 100% onsite position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can drive process improvement, scale production, and build high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment. The COO will oversee manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and quality operations while collaborating with ownership and senior leadership to ensure efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead day-to-day operations, including manufacturing, production planning, supply chain, logistics, and distribution.
  • Partner with ownership and the executive team to execute strategic plans and operational initiatives.
  • Implement process improvements and lean manufacturing practices to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Ensure production goals are met with a focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Oversee procurement, vendor management, and inventory control to support continuous production flow.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to measure performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with finance on budgets, forecasts, and capital investment strategies.
  • Partner with HR on organizational development, workforce planning, and leadership training.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, including senior management or COO-level leadership.
  • Proven success managing large-scale production and supply chain operations.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results.
  • Experience with ERP systems and data-driven decision-making.
