Summary :

TheQuality Engineeris responsible for ensuring that products, processes, and systems meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role supports the design, manufacturing, and field teams by developing and maintaining quality assurance processes, conducting root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying risks and improvement opportunities. The Quality Engineer will serve as a bridge between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Field Service to ensure that customer expectations are consistently exceeded.

Accountabilities:

  • Support and maintain the company’sQuality Management System (QMS)in compliance with ISO and industry standards.

  • Develop and update inspection procedures, control plans, and work instructions to ensure consistent product quality.

  • Oversee and validate effectiveness offirst article inspections (FAI), in-process audits, and final inspectionsto verify product conformance.

  • Review and approve supplier and manufacturing documentation for accuracy and compliance.

  • Assist with internal, supplier, and customer audits to ensure adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements.

  • Lead, document and close outroot cause investigationsfor nonconformances, customer complaints, and audit findings.

  • Develop, implement, and verifycorrective and preventive actions (CAPA)to prevent recurrence of issues affecting quality.

  • Facilitate problem-solving using tools such as5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, FMEA, 8D, and statistical techniques.

  • Collect, analyze, and reportquality metrics(defect rates, rework, scrap, supplier performance, etc.).

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and executeLean and Six Sigma initiatives.

  • Supportprocess capability studies, measurement system analysis, and other data-driven evaluations.

  • Recommend design or process changes to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and efficiency.

  • Collaborate withSupply Chain, Engineeringand Operationsto evaluate supplier performance and drive improvements.

  • Support manufacturing teams with quality-related issues including training, documentation, and process control.

  • Design processes that ensure that materials, components, and assemblies meet technical and contractual requirements.

  • Assist withnew product introductions (NPI)to ensure quality is built into every stage of design and production.

  • Serve as a quality representative forcustomer interactions, audits, and field issue resolution.

  • Provide timely and professional communication regarding quality issues and resolutions.

  • Partner with Field Service and Engineering to evaluate and resolve field performance or warranty concerns.

Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3–7 years of experience in quality engineering within amanufacturing, industrial, or electrical systems environment.

  • Working knowledge ofISO 9001, UL, ASME, and other quality standards.

  • Experience inroot cause analysis, CAPA, and statistical process control (SPC).

  • Familiarity withLean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies(certification preferred).

  • Proficient in readingmechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.

  • Strong understanding ofmeasurement tools,GD&T, andinspection processes.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills; able to interface effectively with suppliers, customers, and all levels of the organization.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality management software (QMS, ERP, or similar).

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
