American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring a NY RN license and EPIC charting experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) within a tertiary care hospitalCare for adult acute care patients needing specialized monitoring and step-down careContinuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring for all patientsHandle a patient ratio of 1 : 5 to 1 : 7 for MedSurg patientsPerform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, rapid response, IV therapy, and airway managementNight shift schedule : three 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00–07 : 00)Required to work every other weekendExpected to float as neededUtilizes EPIC EMR system, prior experience is requiredPatient population includes those transitioning from the ED, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors, requiring more than general acute careResponsibilities include titrating medicated IV infusions, airway and BIPAP support, and management of arterial and central linesTeam-oriented multi-disciplinary approach to patient careIsolation precautions are followed as neededFirst time travelers are acceptedReturn staff are eligible after a 1-year separationPre-assignment modules must be completed prior to startScrub attire must be any combination of navy and whiteLimited call-off policy appliesAll requested time off must be submitted up front for consideration\n \n Requirements\n
Active NY RN license in hand at the time of considerationCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationMinimum of 1 year of recent RN experience in a similar settingExperience with EPIC charting systemMust be able to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmiasAbility to manage peripheral lines, nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway equipmentApplicants must reside outside a 75-mile radius\n Benefits\n
