A day in your life
You start your shift with a safety huddle and PPE check. Next, you review MRP queues and prioritize incoming receipts, bin moves, and kits to keep assembly lines fed. You scan and label parts, stage deliveries just-in-time for production, and jump on a forklift or order picker to move material with care. When issues arise — a mislabel, a short pick, a delivery conflict — you resolve them quickly and loop in your supervisor. Before clocking out, you update transactions to ensure the system reflects the shop floor, and you coach a teammate on a new kitting standard work instruction.
What you will do
- Champion safety at all times : wear required PPE and contribute to a healthy, hazard-free workplace.
- Execute material flow operations : receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, and point-of-use delivery.
- Maintain perfect transaction discipline in the MRP system so locations, lot / part numbers, and quantities are accurate.
- Apply correct labels and identifiers on all stock to ensure traceability and error-free picks.
- Handle components carefully to prevent damage during storage, movement, and line delivery.
- Flag quality or delivery concerns to your supervisor immediately and support countermeasures.
- Operate powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklift, crane, order picker, scissor lift) — certifications may be required; use fall protection where applicable.
- Hit daily delivery targets to keep the production schedule on track.
- Share your know-how by explaining warehouse procedures and best practices to coworkers.
