- Work environment : Cardiothoracic Surgery / Cardiology
- Work hours : PRN : On an as needed basis 10-hour Shifts, 6 : 30AM-4 : 30PM, Monday-Friday, possible weekend coverage in the future, no major holidays. Vacation coverage. On average 2-3 shifts per month.

Bachelor's Degree Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN) Required AndMaster's Degree Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program RequiredRN - Registered Nurse upon hire required (licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing)APRN - Advanced Practice Nurse Upon Hire Required AndNP - Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire Required ( Must be Acute Care N.P.) and
Other must be credentialed by Medical Staff Services Upon Hire Required AndBCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly RequiredACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days is required
2 Years' Experience As a Nurse Practitioner Strongly Preferred
Two (2) years' experience in cardiothoracic surgical / cardiology background as RN / NPRN / NP Experience with cardiac Cath lab patients and cardiothoracic surgery patientsDemonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.What You Will Do
Skill Set : A&P's – assessments, progress, discharges, education of patients; pull chest tubes, perform stress testsUtilizes principles and skills in communication and interviewing techniques in obtaining a comprehensive health history to formulate a plan of care and make decisions for appropriate therapeutic interventionsBasic computer skills using medical management application systems – EPIC / Care ConnectPerforms specialty specific technical procedures safely and proficientlyUtilizes evidenced based practiceDemonstrates contribution to unit-based programs and research strategies to monitor and continuously improve the quality of patient careFlexible with scheduling to meet the department and patient needsAdditional Perks Of Being a Texas Health Nurse Practitioner
