If so, the Sampson County Department of Social Services is looking for you to join our team as a Foster Care Social Worker III!

About the Role

As a Foster Care Social Worker III, you will :

• Provide specialized child welfare services in Foster Care, Permanency Planning, and Independent Living Services for children in DSS custody (ages newborn to 21).
• Work closely with families, foster parents, legal representatives, and community partners to create safe and supportive environments for children.
• Assess and implement intervention strategies to address medical, behavioral, and psychosocial needs.
• Advocate for children's well-being by ensuring compliance with state and federal policies, attending court proceedings, and developing permanency plans.
• Share responsibility for on-call duties, responding to urgent needs as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master's degree in a human services field and one year of directly related experience; Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.

PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN TO THOSE WITH BI-LINGUAL SKILLS AND / OR DSS EXPERIENCE.
