Are you passionate about helping others and ready to take the next step in your healthcare journey? Mercy Hospital South is looking for compassionate, team-oriented individuals to join ourInpatient Med Surg Eastunit as aPatient Care Associate (PCA).
In this hands-on role, youll work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide essential care and support to patients. From assisting with daily activities and hygiene to monitoring vital signs and ensuring a safe, healing environmentyoull be a key part of each patients recovery journey.
Qualifications
Education & Experience :
High school diploma, GED, CNA / CPTC, or current enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school curriculum.Current Mercy co-workers are also eligible.No prior experience requiredMercy provides a 175-hour paid training program that meets state Department of Health and Senior Services requirements. This must be completed within 90 days of hire.Licensure & Certifications :
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within one month of hire.Completion of PCA competencies required within three months of hire.Preferred : Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.Physical Requirements :
Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift.Must be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform patient care tasks.Other Requirements :
Strong time management and clinical judgment.Flexibility with assignments and willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.Commitment to maintaining compliance with required certifications and training.Job Duties :
