Clean Harbors is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to become a vital part of our dedicated and safety-oriented team. This role will involve hands-on responsibilities related to hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and the safe handling of hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prioritize Health and Safety by adhering to policies and taking responsible actions
  • Engage in physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and pulling
  • Operate both light and heavy equipment and utilize a range of hand tools and powered tools
  • Wear and correctly use various personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Work outdoors and indoors in various weather conditions
  • Handle materials in environments with potential exposure to chemical and physical hazards
  • Collaborate in field sampling activities and meter calibration
  • Inspect waste containers for compliance and integrity
  • Load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely
  • Follow local, state, and federal compliance regulations diligently
  • Safely operate vehicles in line with all required safety protocols
  • Participate in training sessions and uphold safety meeting attendance
  • Be available for on-call emergency responses on a rotating basis

    • Required Qualifications :

  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to perform all physical tasks outlined in the responsibilities
  • Agreement to be on-call for emergency responses, including weekend and holiday shifts
  • Satisfactory completion of background checks, drug testing, and physical examinations
  • Compliance with OSHA's Respiratory Protection standards, including facial hair requirements

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Relevant prior labor experience
